→the sound of a kingdom falling: on Jeyne's personality

ladyjeyne:

Anonymous asked you: Hi! You obviously seem to like Jeyne Westerling a lot and have a lot opinions, and I was wondering if you could explain how you see her personality and how she grew up and what you think she is like as a person? I’m really surious about your thoughts!

Okay well let me…

Robb bid farewell to his young queen thrice. Once in the godswood before the heart tree, in sight of gods and men. The second time beneath the portcullis, where Jeyne sent him forth with a long embrace and a longer kiss. And finally an hour beyond the Tumblestone, when the girl came galloping up on a well-lathered horse to plead with her young king to take her along. A Storm of Swords, page 620

if this was the cold war (we could keep each other warm): a jeyne/robb mix

1. Sloom || Of Monsters And Men // I met a man today and he smiled back at me // there are thoughts like these that keep me on my feet, that keep me on my feet

2. Lover/Soldier || Washington // lover, you’re a soldier// you’re a long, long way from home // a long way from your mother and you do it on your own // we can take our chances because we knew it going in // there’d be lots of dancing, but we’d never, ever play to win

3. The Sea And The Rhythm || Iron & Wine // and lovelier words from your mouth to me // when salty my sweat and fingertips // our hands they seek the end of afternoons // my hands believe and move over you // tonight we’re the scent of your long black hair // spread out like your breath across my back // your hands they move like waves over me // beneath the moon, tonight, we’re the sea

4. Lady In Spain || Ingrid Michaelson // I am in love with a boy manufactured to destroy // so I shall unravel my love, like an old red woolen glove // I can do anything I want to // I can do anything I want// anything my heart tells me to do // tells me to do

5. The Temptation Of Adam || Josh Ritter // oh, we could hold each other close, stay up every night // looking up into the dark like it’s the night sky // pretend this giant missile is a old oak tree instead // carve our name in hearts into the warhead

6. After The Bombs || The Decemberists // after the rockets come // and the glimmer of fire pretends an early dawn // we pinch at our skin while we wonder how we escaped harm // we forget all our trials, all there in our baby’s arms // after the rockets, after the rockets come // then we’ll go dancing // won’t we go dancing?

7. Heavy In Your Arms || Florence + the Machine // this will be my last confession // I love you never felt like any blessing // oh, whispering like it’s a secret // only to condemn the one who hears it with a heavy heart

8. Rest In The Bed || Laura Marling // there lies a man of my heart // a fine and complete work of art // here, I his woman, his home, and his heart // and proud to be playing that part // and proud to be playing that part // rest in the bed of my bones // all that I have is a home // and all you can do is promise me bold // that you won’t let me grow dark or cold // as long as we both shall live

9. No One Would Riot For Less || Bright Eyes // little soldier, little insect // you know war it has no heart // it will kill you in the sunshine // or happily in the dark // so love me now, hell is coming // yeah, kiss my mouth, hell is here // wake, baby, wake // but leave that blanket round you, there’s nothing as safe // I’m leaving this place // there is nothing I’m planning to take // just you, just you

10. How Much More || Stars // how much more am I supposed to take // how much more am I supposed to break // you asked for time, and time takes you away // I’m alone and you’re a man // I need you closer to me // my hands are tied because I won’t say goodbye // I tried // I told you I was brave but I lied

11. Play Crack The Sky || Brand New // calm me and let me taste the salt you breathed while you were underneath // I am the one who haunts your dreams of mountains sunk below the sea // I spoke the words but never gave a thought to what they all could mean // I know this is what you want // A funeral keeps both of us apart // you know that you are not alone // need you like water in my lungs // this is the end

12. Calgary || Bon Iver // teach our bodies: haunt the cause // I was only trying to spell a loss // joy, it’s all founded // pincher with the skin inside // you pinned me with your black sphere eyes // you know that all the rope’s untied // I was only for to die beside // so it’s storming on the lake, little waves our bodies break // there’s a fire going out, but there’s really nothing to the south

13. Coda (Ann St. pt. II) || Chris Bathgate // each inept embrace, spirals into a sick raw frame // when two hearts are in tune, when two hearts are a tomb // and in your side it glows // you’re not the one who should sing so slowly// when your eyes move so fast, when your eyes move so sad

14. An Army Of Lovers Cannot Fail || Lovers // If they send the wolves, I’ll join the wolves and i’ll return some day // with my teeth sharper and my blood hotter // I’ll be the dog by your grave with a hanging tongue and a ribcage and a chewed-up tail // howling with my last exhale // an army of lovers cannot fail

Game of Thrones AU ~ Once Upon a Time style
Robb, Jon, Theon, Asha, Dany, Renly, Loras, Margaery, Sansa, Jaime, Cersei, Brienne, Jeyne and Ygritte are transported in the real world by the Evil Queen, Melisandre, and they don’t remember anything of who they were in the reality they come from (i.e. Westeros).
Arya, Melisandre’s step-daughter, and the only person, besides her, who knows the truth, is trying to explain them what happened and make them believe her.

I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that I have a huge thing for the Jeyne/Robb/Theon OT3 - in a modern!AU setting, obviously. Period. (Blame it all on janiedean anyway.)

→ A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones ~ Modern AU

[About a year after ADWD] After having found Sansa Stark, Brienne starts travelling around Westeros with her, and during their journey they also find Myrcella Baratheon, Jeyne Poole and Jeyne Westerling, and each of them answers yes when Brienne asks them if they want to join their small group. Once they are all together, Brienne becomes their leader and decides to train them to become soldiers, so that they will be able to defend themselves the next time someone will try to hurt them in any way. Some of the girls bond strongly with each other, some others find it more difficult to get along, but during the journey each of them ends up making an encounter with someone that is really important to her. The first is with Jaime, who gets to spend some time with his daughter (who still thinks he’s her uncle), and with Brienne, until the inevitable happens between them: the first night Jaime spends with them, he and Brienne finally come to terms with the fact that they are in love with each other, and they end up making love somewhere in the wood. Short after, the Blackfish Tully finds the group to deliver them Jeyne Westerling’s one-year-old girl; after her birth, the baby was given to a family that the Blackfish trusted, in order not to be found by the Lannisters and Jeyne’s mother, with the agreement that Jeyne would have picked her up when the war would be over. Since of the people taking care of the child got seriously ill, Brynden decided to bring her to her real mother, who’s obviously very happy to have her back. The next person they get to meet is Lady Stoneheart, accompanied by some guys of the Brotherhood without Banners. She’s not very pleased to see Brienne alive, but when she sees her daughter she forgets everything else; for Sansa it’s a very heartbreaking moment, but finally mother and child are reunited - even if it’s just for a short while. She also gets to see her granddaughter, Robb’s baby, who’s called Catelyn, like her. It turns out that the meeting with Lady Stoneheart was organized by a mysterious man who lead her to the group, and who doesn’t reveal himself until Lady Stoneheart and her companions are gone. He’s Theon Greyjoy. The reconciliation with Sansa and Jeyne Westerling is a bit difficult, even if it eventually happens, but most of all Theon and Jeyne Poole are back together.

I took her castle and she took my heart.

(I’m still mad at HBO for the mess they did, but unfortunately these caps are just too beautiful - things that happen when the actors are too precious for their storyline, I guess - so I’ll keep pretending it’s Robb and Jeyne)

I will. I’ll be there.

The thing really funny is that, if you just look at this scene - not considering the fact that Robb is supposed to pray the Old Gods - it nearly makes sense. I mean, it is pretty much the way I always pictured the wedding. The problem is ALL THE REST.
